British Columbia:Between October 1st and April 30th, specific areas in British Columbia mandate winter tires or chains. Studded tires with studs up to 3.5mm are permitted during this period. It's noteworthy that if studded tires are used on the front wheels, they must also be used on the rear wheels.
Alberta, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon:
No restrictions exist in these regions, allowing for the unrestricted use of studded tires throughout the winter season.
Manitoba: Studded tires are permitted in Manitoba between October 1st and April 30th. Notably, Manitoba Public Insurance offers a low-cost loan program from 2014 onwards to facilitate winter tire acquisition.
